Project background and needs
Dutch farm-tech company Stal Data deployed a Helium gateway and SenseCAP sensors in its pig barn, feeding temperature, humidity, and CO2 data into a website, app, and livestream.
In-barn environmental variation
- The rear of the barn was hot and humid.
- Measurements found the rear temperature was higher than the front exhaust area.
Needs to locate temperature distribution differences to adjust ventilation.
Air quality monitoring
- CO2 concentration is used to adjust the minimum ventilation rate.
- A concentration gap between front and rear areas can indicate insufficient fresh air supply.
Needs ongoing observation of air quality and spatial differences.

Environmental data access
A Helium gateway aggregates SenseCAP sensor data, viewable in real time through the web and SenseCAP Mate app.
Ventilation and public display
Data is integrated into the livestream. Adding a fan at the rear to push air toward the front made temperature distribution more even.
