Project background and needs
A visual alarm monitoring system integrator in the USA and Korea used a customized reRouter to upgrade existing visual alarm devices, connecting cameras, alarm panels, and the central monitoring station for home, commercial, and industrial security scenarios.
Camera Expansion
- Existing devices supported varying numbers of camera channels.
- As the customer base and coverage area expanded, more cameras and higher edge compute power were needed.

Software Migration
- The partner's software was based on Linux.
- The original devices used Raspberry Pi 3; the upgraded solution uses CM4.

Custom Bridging
reRouter adds PoE and a 3.5mm audio jack, binding alarm inputs to video events and pairing with existing alarm panel zones.
Alert Response
Converts video analytics alarm signals for central station response and supports remote talk-down via line-level audio.
