Handheld Monitoring System for Forest Patrol
A customized handheld monitoring system for outdoor environments, supporting long-range communication control and improving the efficiency of forest patrols.
Disaster response needs data fast, but conventional monitoring gear is slow to haul in and set up — without gas or water-level readings, decisions run on guesswork.
A carry-case emergency monitoring center: built-in local Wi-Fi and LoRa, connecting all kinds of sensors after simple setup.

Communication infrastructure is down, teams lose each other, and coordination comes down to shouting.
Our solution builds a low-power, long-range private wireless network for kilometer-level communication coverage, improving emergency response efficiency.
In signal dead zones, the missing can't be found and rescuers themselves can drop off the map — search time stretches and risk climbs.
Built on GNSS satellite positioning (GPS/BeiDou/Galileo) and low-power comms, tracking terminals for rescuers and stranded people in no-signal zones stream positions in real time, alerting automatically on deviation or lost contact.

The solution uses off-grid communication that does not depend on carrier base stations: devices talk directly over 2–5 km without infrastructure, and mesh networking extends coverage hop by hop automatically, with encrypted group and point-to-point messaging. Carry the portable base station with the team — the network forms wherever you go.
Front-end sensors are low-power designs that run years on battery — no charging concerns within a rescue cycle. Gateways and command terminals support battery plus solar combinations for sites without mains power. Devices operate at -40°C to 85°C with IP66 protection, handling storms, dust, and intense UV.
Designed for grab-and-go use: comms modules, gateways, and common apps come pre-integrated in a portable kit — power on at the site and the network forms. Sensors and positioning terminals are configured via phone app over Bluetooth, no IT specialists needed. Arrival to basic capability online takes hours, not days.
Upkeep is light: core devices are industrial-grade, low-power designs. Routine care is just periodic power-on self-checks, battery status, and firmware updates — all doable over the app's Bluetooth connection. Some teams also use the gear day to day for forest patrol and fire-prevention monitoring, combining readiness with daily use so nothing sits idle.
Yes. The Seeed devices used in this solution can be customized with your own logo, enclosure, packaging and pre-loaded firmware, and existing models can be adapted to add or drop interfaces and features. See Customization Service for scope and process, or .
